Arlene’s career began while reporting in court as an official for six years and has since reported throughout the European countries and into the Middle East with her clients. She has a passion for travel and feels honored and is grateful for these memorable opportunities.

Today, GLS, which is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, offers a nationwide network of expert stenographers plus videoconferencing connections throughout the US.

Suzie

Suzie has been with GLS for 14 years as the office manager. She has a degree in Business from Davenport University and came to GLS with a background in accounting, insurance, sales, equipment leasing and manufacturing environments. Since coming to GLS, she has married her husband, Scot and has had an adorable son, Dalton. Her hobbies include horseback riding, snowmobiling, boating, skiing, spending time with friends and family and loves traveling in the U.S. and abroad. Personal motto: “Life is an adventure: cherish it and experience everything!”

She is a longtime member of the National Association of Legal Support Professional (NALS) and has held some chair positions in the organization over the years. She has also organized the annual Great Lakes Shorthand “Shop Chicago for Charity” bus trip for several years.

Suzie oversees and partakes in all of the GLS office functions, client services, and is charged with keeping up on the latest technology and trends in the court reporting industry and implementing them into our organization. The most recent of these is the digital imaging and video-to-text synchronization that facilitates visual trial presentation to juries.

Shelley

Shelley is the newest addition to our staff at GLS. Shelley has an employment background in office management. She possesses a Bachelor’s Degree from Davenport University in Business with a major in Accounting. Her main focus at GLS is to support the office manager and our clients with the day-to-day functions of the business as well as assist with special projects as technology is ever changing.

Shelley has been married to her husband for almost 17 years and they have four children. She spends many evenings at sporting events for her kids. Running is a favorite pastime along with reading, gardening, outdoor activities, spending time at the lake and crafts. She has been active in the local garden club for the last nine years and volunteers regularly at her church with children’s activities, teaching classes, and office help.
